That’s the kind of headline that can send shivers up the backs of those who have invested heavily in stores and/or franchises specializing in DVD rentals and sales.
And yet (unfortunately, for this viewer) that’s the headline in a recent article from a prominent online entertainment trade newsletter.
Citing declining rental and sales figures from “bricks and mortar” venues (in other words, actual buildings rather than online revenue sources) The Wrap.com scribe Diane Garrett writes ….
“The message was clear: The traditional home entertainment business is going, going gone.”
