Been There, Dung That!

According to a press release from Michigan State University, it may soon be possible to distill   potable (that’s a five dollar college word for drinkable) water from cow manure.

“If you have 1,000 cows on your operation, they produce about 10 million gallons of manure a year,”says Steve Safferman, an associate professor of biosystems and agricultural engineering at MOO (excuse me, MSU). ” … out west, for example, where drought remains an issue, the accessibility of clean water could make the difference between a farm remaining viable or going out of business.”

Now that’s what I call getting your “chips” together.
